Medical Conditions
If you have a pre-existing medical condition, you can still buy insurance with Planet Earth.
Please note the following guidelines:
- Buy your Planet Earth policy as normal, at the premium displayed on your screen
- Phone the Medical Screening Helpline on 0844 338 5843 to apply to extend your cover for the pre-existing medical condition
- If you buy the insurance and do not phone the Medical Screening Helpline, pre-existing medical conditions will NOT be covered under the policy. For instance, if you have a pre-existing heart condition and suffer a heart attack on holiday, then any resulting claim will not be covered.
- The Medical Screening Helpline will consider the medical condition and decide whether or not to offer cover for that condition. If they do offer cover, they will give you a premium quotation and you can decide whether or not to buy the extended cover.
- You do not have to phone the Medical Screening Helpline or buy the extended cover. The Planet Earth policy will still be valid if you do not. However, any claims resulting from the pre-existing medical condition will not be covered unless the extended cover is bought.
