| Medical Screening Services |
The medical screening service is designed to ensure that you have the ultimate protection. Our Medical Underwriting Division provides full medical screening facilities using customised software. The team includes specialist Medical Underwriters and administrators who also have immediate access to our Medical Division.
If you have a pre-existing medical condition, if there are any changes in your health or prescribed medication or there is the onset of new condition prior to travelling, you are required to phone the helpline on 0844 338 5843 to arrange cover for the condition(s). Failure to declare all pre-existing medical conditions that are relevant to the insurance may invalidate the policy. |

| Emergency Medical Service |
Our Medical Emergency Service is provided by Europ Assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. They will arrange ambulances (or other applicable service providers) to transport you to the nearest appropriate medical facility and if repatriation is later judged to be necessary, they will arrange transfers and flights (be that booking extra seats on a commercial flight, or arranging a chartered flight with full medical crew). In addition, they also:
• Guarantee expenses (for example directly to the hospital)
• Monitor progress (and if requested/ necessary report to family/ employer)
• Confirm with our doctors if repatriation is required
Each case is continuously monitored through regular follow up calls and request for information until the patient is released or repatriated – normally this would be followed by a final courtesy call to the patient to confirm that the service has been satisfactory and that the file may be closed. A team of experienced doctors and nurses are in charge of medical decisions and of the choice of appropriate action. They have an in-depth knowledge of the logistical and medical restraints involved in airborne transport of sick and badly injured patients. All of them work regularly in emergency departments, intensive care units or trauma centres to ensure they are fully up to date with the latest medical procedures and technology. They are on-call, ready and available to escort patients around the world. There is a nurse in the office at all times, and a doctor in the office 12 hours a day, and on call at all other times |
